My client was established in the early 1970's and now employs 16 staff with offices at 2 locations (Darlington & Durham), the role can be based at either location.
They provide accountancy services, tax advice, financial planning and other business support services to businesses throughout the north east region and beyond operating in the following sectors: Manufacturing, Professional services, Retail, Agriculture, Construction, Property rental & development, Transport, IT, Design & Marketing, and Service businesses.
Due to a combination of organic growth and expansion into a second office they urgently require to appoint an additional experienced Accounts Senior / Semi Senior who possess a broad accountancy background gained within a small to medium sized general accountancy practice.
Accountancy qualifications are desirable though not
a specific requirement, the role would particularly suit experienced
Accounts Semi Seniors or Seniors who are QBX, qualifying or qualified AAT / ACCA. The ability to "hit the ground running" producing sets of accounts with minimal supervision whilst making a contribution from day one is deemed more important than being qualified.
Duties and attributes of the ideal candidate:
- Accounts preparation for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies, essential;
- Production of VAT, income tax & corporation tax computations essential;
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and computerised bookkeeping packages such as Iris and Sage, essential.
- Experience of Cloud Accounting software is welcomed but not essential, Xero and Quickbooks.
