My client is a 5 partner Chartered Accountancy practice whose name is synonymous throughout the professional landscape of Tees Valley area and beyond. Having experienced strategic growth during the last 12 months they are now actively seeking to appoint a Bookkeeping / Outsourcing Manager.

The role

The role requires the close day to day management and review of two experienced bookkeeping colleagues whilst fulfilling the client VAT and bookkeeping workload, the allocation of VAT and bookkeeping assignments to team members, as well as personal responsibility for client VAT preparation and bookkeeping.  Great emphasis is placed on the development of close working relationships with the firms’ clients, the successful incumbent can therefore expect to be instrumental in the implementation of systems and the training of clients in bookkeeping and VAT processes, this will require occasional travel to clients’ premises (Covid permitting).

The candidate

Ideally, applicants should have a minimum of 5 years’ experience working in a general practice environment and possess a comprehensive working knowledge of bookkeeping and VAT returns. A working familiarity with Sage, Xero and QuickBooks etc. would offer an applicant a distinct advantage.  Applicants for this role could be qualified AAT, qualifying AAT, or qualified by experience (QBX), in this instance being able to meet the experience criteria is considered most suitable.
